When one of your guests has a boat in the marina 🙌🏻🛥️

As always, it was a beautiful day to celebrate a wedding at Crystal Point Yacht Club! Jenny + Ryan lucked out with the most beautiful weather, perfect for an outdoor ceremony overlooking the water. The details were gorgeous and the dance floor was energized - we couldn’t have asked for a better day!

We had two weddings this weekend, so have a LOT to sort through and edit, but here’s a small sneak peek for now until we share more from this beautiful wedding 🩵

It’s us and our tripod against the world ❤️ Took advantage of a sunny day and rare work-free evening to take a few maternity photos last night! We were about to pack up and head home when Kevin said ‘don’t move!’ and found the gorgeous light in the first photo ☀️ 100% recommend taking maternity photos in the late 2nd trimester like this - you’ll have your bump to pose with, but haven’t yet entered the ‘swollen’ phase!

If we could give just two tips for achieving the best reception photos, they’d be:

1. Avoid dancing inside of small circles of guests - it’s nearly impossible to capture the bride & groom if they’re tightly surrounded by other people blocking view

2. Try your best to pretend we don’t exist! The most fun and exciting dance floor photos are not posed, and come when you’re fully present in the moment

The best tip we can give for having a balanced gallery with both standard portraits and candid moments is that if it’s not posed, don’t pose. When we’re not directing portraits or getting ready photos, try your best to pretend we’re not there. Don’t worry about angles or looking ‘photogenic’ - be fully present in the moment and we’ll capture the authentic emotions throughout the day. In the end, those are some of the best photos, and will remind you how your wedding truly felt!
