Everyone told me to prepare for Seattle’s worst. She said absolutely not and gave us the most perfect day. The most perfect weekend, honestly.
I have astigmatism and it’s changed how I perceive light my whole life. Solar flares aren’t really a choice for me, it’s just how I see. I chase them whenever I can because when they show up in my work, I feel like they’re the most accurate visual representation of my actual world.
I told Anna and Ryan that mid-session and they just… got it. That’s kind of who they are.
They took us to all their spots. We made daisy chains, took a ferry, brought Scott (Biscotti) along who was somehow the star of every single frame without even trying. And much to my surprise I ended up having some of the best cheese grits I’ve had in a long time at a vegetarian brunch spot in Seattle of all places haha, which I was not expecting but honestly should have been, because this whole trip was full of things I didn’t see coming.
I’m really attached to these two. Their love story, the way they exist around each other, the way Javi and I felt completely at home with them by the end of the day. I’m not just excited for the wedding. I’m excited for after and to call them friends.
Seattle gave me a feeling I haven’t had since the first time I went to Boston. Make of that what you will.
