From where I stand looking up at the tall mountain top, it's a long hard climb, the sun is setting behind the peak as the cold of the night reaches around and embraces me taking that last bit of warmth as it fades with the light. I look around me and all I can see for miles are giant trees, sharp edged rocks and thorny weeds.

I change my view from side to side, looking behind into the darkness to see the lonely, rocky way that took everything I had within me to climb, I look with my heart, remembering every rough and ragged mile. An uphill climb that seemed so steep at times I didn't know how I'd ever get to where I was, that infamous halfway mark, and most of the time was it was fought for, reaching hand over hand crawling on my knees. I slipped and even fell many times, scarring my shins, knees, hands and even my heart.

Again, I change my view, with tears running down my face, I muster as much courage as I have left looking toward the great peak, the light giving way to darkness as the sun slowly slips beneath the earth. I don't have the strength to carry on, I think to myself as I look down at my bloody and bruised hands, from where I stand I know there will be a few more miles of crawling and grasping for holds to push myself higher and higher to reach my goal.

I shake my head and heave a sigh looking up into the night sky I see the moon in all its radiant glory, its face full and bright, the stars around her shining down with all their might. I close my eyes, feeling the light on my face as I call out to my Maker, the Creator of all that is, asking Him for a little help, immediately I feel His arms around me as He pulls me into His chest, his warm and tender hold dissipating the icy cold grip and erasing all my doubts and fears.

He lifts my head and says, "My child, I've been with you every step of the way, I knew your journey before you even began, the hardships and heartaches you'd have to endure. For this very reason and not known to many, I put in you the ability, stamina, determination and hope to make this climb. I chose you to make this journey, not just for the prize but for you to carry the torch for all who will go, for those that will follow this road, though very few, will know the top can be reached because your story does not end here, just like its beginning, it ends the very moment when I designed. I did not put these abilities inside you and bring you this far just to leave you here. I put them in you to reach the very top. I will be with you every step of the way and your reward will be endless at the beginning of the new day. When the sun rises above the earth and shines on the gleaming mountain top you will have reached your destination, your prize will have been worth the fight. Take my hand and I will guide you through. I meant when I said I'll never leave nor forsake you." 'From Where I Stand to Where He Knows' ™️ ©Copyright Jenifer Dixon

Something I felt in my heart to write and wanted to share with you...for any who are on that long heavy road. There is an end. Your journey was designed by God from beginning to end. If you're looking for a hero of the faith, be one. Trust Him.
