🌻 Flower Farm Mini Pop-Up 🌻
I’ve been thinking about adding an August flower farm date for a while, and this year felt like the perfect time to make it happen.
September gets busy quickly with school, activities, and fall schedules, and the flowers are looking absolutely beautiful right now. 🌻
So I’m opening up a handful of Flower Farm Mini Sessions on August 21 & 22!
If you’ve been wanting updated family photos, a few photos of your kids before school starts, or just a fun excuse to enjoy the flowers, I’d love to see you there. 💛
Details + booking info are in the slides!

For the last few years, our family has been on a journey with one big goal: to visit every National Park together. It's become one of our favorite traditions, and every trip leaves us with memories we'll never forget (and thousands of photos for me to sort through).

This year's adventure took us to New River Gorge, Great Smoky Mountains, Gateway Arch, Indiana Dunes, Voyageurs, Pictured Rocks (where we got to spend some extra time with family in Michigan ❤️), and finally Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Each stop had something we'll always remember...
🤍 Whitewater rafting through New River Gorge.
🐻 Spotting our very first black bear in the Smokies.
🌆 Riding 630 feet to the top of the Gateway Arch.
🌊 Cooling off with a swim in Lake Michigan after climbing the Indiana Dunes.
🛥️ Spending the day on a pontoon in Voyageurs while trying to outrun a thunderstorm that definitely caught up with us later that evening.
🚙 Going off-roading with cousins in Michigan.
💦 Exploring waterfalls and incredible rock trails in Cuyahoga.

I finally finished going through all the photos and put together some of my favorites from the trip. If you'd like to follow along on our adventure, I'd love for you to take a look.

Now that we're home, it's time to trade hiking boots for camera gear because fall is almost here! 🍂

I've been working behind the scenes on my Fall 2026 Mini Session lineup, and I'm so excited to share it with you soon. A few favorite locations are coming back, along with a couple of new ideas.
One thing I'm considering is offering a limited number of "Pick Your Own Mini Sessions." Instead of choosing one of my scheduled mini dates, you'd choose an available weekday, pick a location that's special to your family (or let me help you choose one!), and we'd create something a little more personal.

Would you book something like that? I'd love to hear what you think in the comments!

And as always, thank you for following along, not just for the photography, but for cheering on our family's adventures, too. It means more than you know. ❤️

One of my favorite postpartum photos from the last birth I attended. 😂

Because truly… isn’t this just so real? After hours — and sometimes days — of labor, that first real meal suddenly feels absolutely life changing. A hospital menu might as well be fine dining at that point. 🍔✨

Meanwhile, after my own births, I was so nauseous my midwife practically had to force me to eat toast with peanut butter. 😂

What was your first postpartum meal?

Sweet smiles, sticky frosting, and the happiest little cake smash ever.

There’s something about birth that words can’t quite hold.
It’s raw.
It’s quiet and loud all at once.
It’s strength you didn’t know you had… and love you’ve never felt before.
And the truth is, so much of it is a blur.
In the intensity of labor, in the rush of decisions, in the moment your baby finally arrives, there are entire pieces of your story you won’t remember. Not because they weren’t important, but because you were in it. Fully. Completely. Powerfully.
That’s where birth photography comes in.
Not for perfection.
Not for performance.
But for remembrance.
For the way your partner looked at you when you weren’t looking.
For the hands that held you.
For the moment you became something entirely new.
Because birth isn’t just about a baby being born.
It’s about you being born, too.
And one day, when the details have softened and time has moved on, you’ll have something to come back to. Something that says:
This was real.
This was powerful.
This was yours.

My daughter had a school photo contest coming up… and no idea where to start.
Instead of overthinking it, we grabbed a camera and headed outside with one simple mission. Find the colors of the rainbow in our neighborhood.
Red ➡️ a budding tree
Orange ➡️ the center of a daffodil
Yellow ➡️ forsythia growing through the fence
Green ➡️ our canoe, a monstera leaf
Blue ➡️ a ladder on the neighbor’s porch
Indigo ➡️ some flowers
Violet ➡️ a few Pez candies
We wandered a little slower than usual and paid attention to things we would have walked right past any other day.
By the end, she didn’t just have one photo. She had a whole collection… a new way of seeing, and a few bonus shots we didn't plan for.
If you’re looking for something simple to do with your kids, or just a reason to slow down for an hour, this was a good one.
📸 Take a color walk
Pick a few colors and head outside. No plan needed.
Let your kid decide what counts.
Look for tiny details, textures, shadows.
Move slowly. Follow their lead.
For older kids, or even yourself, make it more of a challenge. Look for unusual colors. Try different angles. Pay attention to light. You can even limit how many photos you take.
It’s not about getting the perfect shot.
It’s just about noticing.
And sometimes, that turns into the kind of afternoon you don’t forget ❤️

“You’re doing better than you think, even on the days it doesn’t feel like it.”
This sweet baby girl joined a house already full of life, with two curious big brothers, a few burrito swaddles, and even the dogs stopping by to see what all the excitement was about.
Motherhood comes with chaos, cuddles, and tiny victories, and today we celebrated them all.
