I love being gay πŸŽ‰ but I don’t take lightly what it means to be able to say that out loud.

As pride month comes to a close, it always makes me feel so grateful for the people who came before us- for the people who loved (and so many still are) in secret, and everyone who fought to make it possible for so many of us to live more freely.

We have come so far, but we still have so much further to go because there are still people out there who fear for their lives. There are still people hoping that their families will love them the same and people whose safety, rights, and joy are treated like something up for debate or something to "cleanse".

As a member of this lovely community, getting to document q***r love, joy, and people simply existing as themselves will never be lost on me- ever. It is one of the greatest honors of this work πŸ₯Ίβ€οΈ

Pride is an amazing celebration, of course! But it’s also remembrance and resistance. It’s looking around and realizing we are still here, still growing, and loving against all odds.
