This stinker turned 1 this week! George is pure joy. Still as laid back as they come, still has us all wrapped around that little finger of his. He’s our curious, on-the-go little buddy full of life and smiles and expressive looks. He initiates peekaboo but forgets to hide. He bosses the dog by following him around, pointing and yelling at him, “Doh-duh!” He babbles incessantly, often just to himself/his lovies, and has already earned a reputation in the church nursery for being a climber. He’s been known to shove whatever he can down the toilet, and does it shamelessly with a huge smile because he knows it’s going to get a good laugh from the twins, who are absolutely his biggest fans. For sure the kid has jokes. We have loved every single minute with this little love bug, and we are so grateful that the Lord saw fit to make him ours.

We are completely overjoyed to announce the birth of our son, George Bryant Tate - born August 22, 2023 at 4:40pm - 9lbs 15oz, 22.25 inches long. We’re home and living out these first slow, sweet days with two of the best little helpers. The twins are loving life loving on Baby George and helping us take great care of him, and I’m convinced there’s just nothing sweeter to see than those two (officially huge) kiddos running towards their baby with kisses and gentle hands and eyes wide with wonder. It’s chaotic at times, but we are savoring every single minute and detail knowing just how fast it‘s all about to go. God is good!

First day of kindergarten in the books, and we couldn’t be more proud of these two! They walked inside hand in hand with big smiles on their faces, and came home excited and ready to go back tomorrow. Swipe all the way to the right to see what life was *just* yesterday. Time is bananas.

Jumping on to say “hi”, and to let you know that in case you hadn’t heard, life’s about to get a little crazier for our crew. Yep… Baby Tate #3, our son, is due in August. (Yes, just one this time. Yes, we’re sure 🤪) From that moment we stood in our bathroom shocked and staring down at a positive pregnancy test 5 days before Christmas, to now… it’s just been wild. We are in awe and so thankful for this gift from the Lord!
📷 Always grateful for images from the wonderful … these pictures are treasures because they represent some of these last, long summer days as a family of four. Here’s to savoring these sweet moments and memories before our 4 becomes 5. 💙

Listen our nanny is out of town this week. The kids are not yet back in preschool. It’s rest time in my house and the twins are playing quietly in their rooms for a very limited time before they’re back to playing “the floor is lava” with books scattered everywhere, or building “pillow mountain” on our bed, or trying to ride the poor dog like he’s a horse in battle as they use my wooden spoons and pot lids as swords and shields. So I’ll be brief and get right to the point: It is time. Mark your calendars for Fall Mini-Sessions on October 15 and November 5, there’ll be ten back-to-back slots on each date. It’s first come first serve and they tend to go fast, so shoot me a msg or an email to snag your spot!

I’m going to pretend like I haven’t (accidentally) been off Instagram for 6 months for a minute, and I’d be so grateful if you humored me while I make a fun photog announcement (promise I’ll come back soon to address where I’ve been and said hiatus): A couple years ago I had a hankering to take an heirloom/composite-style image of my kiddos. So I did. They’re dirty, rough and tumble kiddos but I’d say they dress up right nice and the images of them in their Sunday best hanging on my walls are some of my favorites that I’ve ever take of them because they’re simple and let their little personalities shine as the star. Over the last two years, I’ve done it for several friends who I frequently use as guinea pigs for my crazy ideas (love y’all 😘), and with some encouragement from my dear friend over a magnificent dinner at Coquette a couple months ago, I decided to launch an heirloom style mini-session event right out of my home. If this is your lane, mark your calendars for April 2. I’ll have twelve 10-minute spots available, and I’d love to see you there. My hope is that you walk away with a hand full of authentic and timeless images of your baby - no matter the age - that you’ll have and treasure for decades. “Maybe if I squeeze right in here when he’s not looking, they won’t notice.” 🤣 For real though... when it comes to newborn life, y’all’s fur babies (also known as first babies) are the real MVP’s. Don’t even bother asking if I’m okay with including the dog in your session, my answer will always be UM CHYEA.

Major shout out to these two - my parents, not the little people - who’ve hosted our circus since JANUARY 🥴 while our home is being built. Y’all that is a long time to have two feral 3-year-olds in your house. It’s not been completely flawless... I can be pretty messy, and I come by my cranky after 9pm nature very honestly (*cough* DAD 😉)- but it’s been way, way easier than we ever thought it could be. Mom and Dad have been fun to hang out with, helpful with the twins, and our saving grace offering to babysit on nights when Robert and I just need to escape for a minute. All in all, yep, we’re ready to be in our home, but I don’t doubt we’ll all look back on this season living with Cici and Papa and remember it as an incredibly sweet and special time for all of us.

This sight right here. Manna from heaven. Our little oasis. Robert and I pull up to this place and walk through this door all crispy and needing a minute together. We usually spend a few days, and then head home ready to conquer the world (aka parent the little people). Four trips here, and we’re already counting down the days until trip 5 later this year - it is that serious.
