One thing photographing weddings and elopements has taught me...
Your wedding day isn't just about what it looks like, it's about how it feels.
And that feeling starts long before anything is planned.
When you're choosing your wedding or elopement location, don't just focus on how it photographs or how impressive the view is. Pay attention to how it makes you feel in your body. Notice if it slows you down. Notice if it makes you breathe deeper. Notice if it feels like a place where you can actually be present with each other, not just move through a timeline of events.
The best wedding days, whether it's a big celebration or an intimate elopement, aren't defined by the décor or the details. They're defined by space. Space to laugh without rushing, to pause without pressure, to feel everything as it's happening instead of trying to get through it.
This kind of landscape reminds me of that. Open, quiet, grounding. A place where nothing feels forced, and everything is allowed to unfold naturally.
So if you're planning your wedding or elopement, here's my biggest advice: don't just look for a backdrop. Look for a feeling. Because that's what you'll remember long after the day is over.
And if that's the kind of experience you want, follow along for more storytelling wedding and elopement inspiration and real moments that feel like you.
