Tis the season!!

I love getting to photograph seniors. They’re full of energy, so much fun, and always keep me laughing. Many of them have been dreaming about this shoot for years, and now it’s finally here.

Met this sweet family that flew in from the Midwest, not far from where we were once stationed in Kansas. Chatting with them about life out that way made me miss it. I miss Kansas. I miss all the places I’ve called home.

Whenever I run into people from somewhere I’ve lived, I feel like I connect with the piece of myself that I may have left there. The people I met, the perspectives I had, maybe even some innocence that’s been lost along the way. So much life lived since then. I was a new military spouse in Kansas. I missed my family so much. Dale left almost immediately after we arrived and was gone for 9 months. I experienced Midwestern storms for the first time (iykyk). I painted… a lot. My kids were all six years younger. 🥲

It’s crazy to think that this time next year I’ll be somewhere else in the world, building another life, creating new routines… I already miss home here in Hawaii. Not yet super excited about leaving, but acceptance will come 😅🌺

A little love letter to the Beautiful Waimea Bay 💌

After heavy rains this last weekend, a massive landslide came down over the along the rock wall in the back. Not sure if I’ll be back for photos anytime soon, but I’ll def be there in the summer (opposite the land slide area 😅) to enjoy the beach! 🏝️

This sweet family had me capture their maternity, newborn, and family photos just before their PCS off island. What an honor to have gotten to know them and be a part of their story in such a meaningful way. 🤍

So so so grateful for all the families that I had the pleasure of capturing this year 🌺

We had a BLAST shooting the Paradise Garden Minis 🌺, so much so that I might already, *maybe*, be planning to do something similar at a fun new venue in the spring 👀😎🌴

This year has been a fun one for photography. I’m excited to finish it strong and then slow down to soak up our last bit of time on this beautiful island. I can already feel myself anticipating whatever the Army has for us next, often thinking, “I won’t be able to ____, around this time next year…” 🥲

So I’m squeezing every drop I can out of the sunsets, the beaches, the weather, and this whole experience we’ve been given…. ☁️

Thank you again to all my families turned friends. Spending time with you and seeing how much you enjoy your galleries has meant SO much to me. 💗
