I went to Gus Engeling Wildlife Management Area. Warnings were up about alligator danger! I did not see one but did see this wonderful Indigo Bunting! BlueBell is a very close relative of Peanut and Butter Bean.

Driving around Lake Waco this afternoon I caught Peanut courting Lemon Drop! He was flapping is wings and singing every one of his best songs. It was obvious that he knew Butterbean was around the corner trying to outdo him and when the prize! Check out Brian Boyd and see Butterbean in acton!

I looked at my photos today and if I didn't know better, I would have thought I was in the jungle. Water is back in the Waco Wetlands and that is where I saw a Painted Bunting and a very lovely Blue Grosbeak

CARIPEEING! To me I saw and old man peeing. Where did I get this imagination. First My Mother, a Newcomb Potter from the 40's that change the way glazes are made today. They learned how to put copper in glazes to make them blue. She turned down a fancy scholarship to go to a school in New York to marry my Dad.She taught ceramics and art at LSU and scouts ets her entire life. She taught me basic composition as a child. I was lucky to study under Cole Weston that taught me how to put things in a window and get the most out of black and white chemistry. Tommy Suits that worked as a press photographer and artist for Pageants spent a of of time with me teaching Darkroom techniques and composition. I went to seven seminars with Scott Kelby and got touche by Jerry Uelsmann, Julean Koss, Mat Klukosky and at least 50 more world class teachers. I am bringing this all up because there was one person in the background that helped trained my parents and sisters and I have been lucky to have some of her skill rub off on me. https://libbyjohnson.com/
Check her out! She is one of the finest painters in the world, Libby Johnson!

This is a Golden Cheeked Warbler. It is not very shy and is having a hard time staying alive. They nest in the fork of Cedar trees right here around central Texas. They migrate from central Texas down the eastern coast of Mexico and back here to nest in the same tree every year. If someone destroys that tree, they just do not know how to nest in a new tree.😢
