This year just keeps getting better!

Not only did y'all vote me as #1 Photographer (plus winner in both other photography categories) in Waco Area (TX) Locals Love Us. 🧡

But for the first time, I am a Best of Waco Winner, specifically in the High School Senior Photographer category in the WACOAN 💗

I don't mean to brag, but it was Y'ALL who voted me here and that's why it's such a big deal to me.

It is reassurance that the full service portrait experience I sought to provide is serving Waco and the surrounding communities, and in a way that y'all genuinely appreciate.

So I will never stop saying thank you for making this happen for my business. ✨️

Y'all... I love to CREATE.

I love to design sessions, work with people, and capture memories, but arguably my favorite part has always been EDITING. That is where I can see my vision come to life.

In editing, I get to take a raw photo and put the LIFE I captured back into it, with every vibrant color that makes it true to what I saw and felt.

Even culling is part of the art, selecting the photos that show the most emotion and tell the story best... and you won't find me handing that off to software.

Photography is far more than knowing how to work a camera. It is the art of anticipating moments and of noticing the things most people don't pay attention to -- all while being skilled enough to capture it beautifully.

I won't be convinced that a machine would be "better" at it, because portraiture will always be deeply personal and emotional.

And sure, there are AI apps popping up daily that offer to do alot of this for me... but why in the world would I hand off my favorite part of the job just for the sake of efficiency?

I am a creator, and I have been called to CREATE.

I will keep shooting, culling, editing, writing, designing, and creating on my own. I'm ok if it takes a little longer, because that's how you make art. Not by being the most efficient, but by making happy little accidents that sometimes become your new favorite.

So as for me, I will continue to favor creativity over efficiency... because otherwise I would be missing the whole purpose of being a creator.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm fine being an outcast in a world like ours.

Kelln wanted her bridal portrait session at a local favorite of theirs -- Lounge 93. Not only was it a truly beautiful backdrop, but a meaningful location to capture this milestone in a personal way.

An old truck, two good dogs, family and a few good friends, and wedding bells ringing. What more do you really need to start life with your best friend?

From their intimate ceremony to serving dinner to their guests side by side, it was the perfect way to start the kind of marriage that lasts forever.

Confession time 👇🏻

My kids look at this $15 photo album more than they look at the thousands of images stored on my hard drives and in my phone gallery.

But can you blame them?

There's something special about holding memories like these in your hands. Even my one year old is obsessed!

This little album has become our family's memory bank, filled with everything from birthdays and vacations to those random moments I thought to myself, "I never want to forget this."

The photos aren't perfect.

But the memories held within... they are. ❤️

Why am I carrying a $70 instant camera when I own a Canon R6 mirrorless setup worth thousands?

Because sometimes I don't want to create more work.

I just want to make memories.

This little camera has become my favorite way to document life with my family without worrying about editing, storage, or bringing my entire camera bag on every putting.

I just snap, print, and get back to enjoying the moment.

And honestly, it has saved my sanity!
