I can’t staaaand reels sometimes because there was supposed to be the question “Ever wonder why our logo is a honey hungry bear?”

But this one is my freakin favorite! Because when when Pop and I moved in together in 2018, it was the first time we really got to be close to each other so understandably I’d chase him all around the house to snuggle with him every chance I’d get.

At some point he started to call me a bear because I just wouldn’t keep my paws off him. In the glow of our sunrise facing room, we’d lay in bed and he’d remark on my golden skin comparing me to a honey bear.

This coming from a man who keeps Winnie the Pooh on our bookshelf. Eventually I became Goldy the Bear, along with many of my other nicknames that he coined for me.

And while I wasn’t really consuming unhealthy amounts of honey, I began to see myself as a bear chasing sunlight, chasing honey, chasing the Light Preserves of life, the sweetest moments of life derived from time well spent with people you love, doing things that make you happy, and so Light Preserves had both its name and a logo for chasing those moments.

Reminiscing on a really dope day spent with A + M.
•
A once did a Light Drip shoot with me to create a calendar for her boo thang, M (No wonder they’re engaged now.💁🏽‍♀️) and we’ve been friends ever since. So when she called me to come and play in the snow in Mammoth, well, I wasn’t about to refuse.
•
And Im so glad I didn’t because we played in the snow, walked across a frozen lake, skipped rocks on a lake, and climbed trees.
•
The next day they invited us to a hot spring. 10/10 Recommend. Healing and soothing doesn’t even cover it.
•
My first time in Mammoth did not did disappoint. If you’re not into the cold like me, I hear it’s popping in the summer too.

So maybe you don’t know that when I saw adventure elopements, I don’t necessarily mean rugged, or extraneous, or far from comfort. (Believe it or not, lots of elopements take place about 50 feet from the comfort of your vehicle.)

I mean something like this right here!

I mean, come on, a luxury dude ranch where you can horseback ride, snowmobile, hot tub, and enjoy nature?! What a dream!

Someone, someone do it soon and call me when you do!

Las Vegas has a few more cool months left before Summer. Right around May it starts to heat up like the devil's armpit. That's why we head to California and up North to run from the Summer heat.

But don't worry, Las Vegas isn't the only place you can elope. We've helped plenty of couples elope in cooler Summer locations, all of our favorite are covered here in this blog post.

All of these couples are in the middle of their ceremony. Do you notice anything missing? If you said the officiant, you're right. We conduct ceremonies a little differently. Instead of having our officiants stand between our couples, our officiants stand away from them.

There are a few reasons for this. Symbolically, a minister would stand between a couple because they are joining them spiritually. We believe that our couples are already joined spiritually. But we guide them toward their new lives together by making them the center of the moment.

During that moment, they get to be completely present and take in all the views. They get to stare at each other. They get to observe and wipe the tears from each other's eyes. They get to hold each other close and ring in this new life with a true appreciation for their counterpart. Then they get to look back at photos of them, just them because their love was the center of it all.

Next year, Super Bowl LVIII will be taking place in Las Vegas. That means the Strip and the city will be bustling, but there are plenty of places to get married in Las Vegas that aren't close to the Strip that will still feel wide open and intimate.

And if you're open to locations outside of Las Vegas, there's plenty with great weather in February too like California, Arizona, and Utah.

What happens during your elopement ceremony?

Believe it or not, all of these things are optional. You could technically sign your paperwork and no one would be the wiser.

Words describing the gravity of this day.
-We'll collect information from you two and have conversations where you tell us about yourselves. We'll put together those words to share during your ceremony.
Stories about your love.
-Your ceremony is a moment to live in the favorite parts of your love.
Personally written vows.
-If you choose to write your own vows you could say them during your ceremony. Some couples choose to read them privately beforehand, but it's all a matter of preference.
A unity ritual.
-This could be hand fasting, lighting a unity candle, blessing and smoking a blunt together and sharing with your guests, taking a shot. This can be anything, from traditional to totally off book.
Ring exchanges/Gifting
-The time old symbol of rings are exchanged, or you can even give your fiance(e) a gift.
A first kiss.
-Well, that speaks for itself.
An introduction.
-Your names will be marked together in history as your officiant introduces you to the world as a newly married couple.

Why do you need a photographer for your elopement?
