Rebecca and Matt asked us for a day of bourbon and lace, and that's exactly what they got.
They got married at The Farm at Dover in Dover, Wisconsin, in late August, right as the garden past the barn was still going full tilt with ripening tomatoes and thick summer herbs. Rebecca carried dried wheat in her bouquet instead of the usual late-summer blooms, and Matt tucked a stalk of it into his lapel, tipping the whole day a few weeks ahead into harvest season.
One highlight: in the front row of the ceremony sat one empty chair, with Rebecca's late father's cowboy hat resting on it in his place. He passed away 23 years ago, and Rebecca's sister walked her down the aisle instead. It was quiet, and it was one of the more affecting things we've photographed all year.
