I spend a lot of time in birth rooms. Watching women step into something so much bigger than themselves.

Every time, I leave with more respect for what it means to become a mother. Strength, vulnerability, and a body that has quite literally shifted its foundations for another.

I went 3-for-3 with on-time babies, but my fourth decided to break the streak and stay an extra 10 days! Between the prodromal labor and the constant ‘is he here yet?’ texts, those last few days were a mental marathon.

The truth is, only 5% of babies arrive on their due date, and going until 41 or 42 weeks is a perfectly normal variation of health.

I’m curious, were your babies early, on time, or fashionably late??

April was Month of the Military Child, a topic that really deserves more attention. It’s amazing how resilient military kids are through all the moving and deployments and big life changes.

I love picking up my camera throughout the day to document the small things, the tea parties and the army dress up.

I’ve been photographing families for over 8 years, but I am constantly looking to learn and grow as an artist. Recently, I took a 3-day “Elevate Your Edits” class with , and I really resonated with the advice on curating a gallery to feature only the most emotion-evoking images.

Inspired by , I decided to revisit a session from January and narrow it down to the absolute best of the best.
