Hello Friends- It has been quite a long time since R. Gregory Photography has been active on social media and it's about time that we get back to it. Spring tends to invigorate us all to ‘brush off the dust’ - both literally and proverbially – so here we go!
There no way to really catch you up in one post, so keep a look out as the weeks go on for updates on our new products, new partnerships and projects, favorite locations, and more… but the biggest change has been a passing of the torch; Ritchie had decided to retire from photography and Adelaide Rooney (that’s me!) has taken over and is now running the studio full time.
If you have worked with R. Gregory within the last… gosh, 14 years!... then you might recognize me from the picture. I began working for Ritchie as a graphic designer in 2011 and over the years was blessed to have her as a mentor and constant source of inspiration. I learned more from her than I could have ever anticipated and when she was ready to shift her life and embrace a more relaxed pace, she asked me if I would like to take over.
She is now focusing on her lovely gift shop in Sandbridge, The Sterling Pelican (And it is truly a beautiful shop! I highly recommend stopping often to see the wonderful art, gifts, and souvenirs she is always bringing in.)
While I hadn’t actually planned to make the jump, I knew that I could move at my own pace. At that point, I had split my attention between photography, painting, and owning a restaurant – but I missed this studio and coming back felt like home!
Now I finally feel like I am back where I belong and cannot wait to share with you all the exciting things that are in store for R. Gregory Photography. I hope you will follow along and ever better yet, I hope each of you will be a part of what is to come!
