I love the behind the scenes. The photos that don't get posted on Instagram or make it to the album are just as real as the ones that do. As a part documentary, part editorial photographer I make sure to get both those posed portraits and tell the full story of the your wedding day, abandoned bouquet, empty bottles, open chips and all.

I love love. M and K drove all the way to Charlottesville from Blacksburg for a couple's session. We chose the Downtown Mall for the ultimate Charlottesville vibes. They laughed when I called the part of 29 with the KFC, Popeyes, and Canes "the chicken strip" so I knew we were going to have fun.

Happy Earth Day! We live on the coolest planet. She has oceans, caverns, mountains, volcanoes, beaches, cliff sides, bluffs, fjords, clouds, and that's only the tip of the iceberg in terms of amazing physical features! ❄ 😉 Then we get to animals, plants, fungi, rocks, and the millions of other unique aspects of our planet.

We only have one Planet Earth. This is the only place with the right atmosphere that allows us to breathe, drink, and live. If you need me, I'll be out in my garden today or off on a trail somewhere with my feet in the grass and admiring the beauty all around us.

With everything happening in the world, it often feels weird and trivial to keep posting my photographs. Honestly, that's why I keep doing it.

I want to sneak into my follower's doomscrolling with a hint of whimsy and wonder that reminds them that love is unstoppable. Light and kindness are still around us despite the rest of it all. I share these snippets of happiness so we can all borrow the joy or sparkle, even if only for a moment. 💕

(Also, I share them because running an active Instagram account is a necessary evil in the world of small business marketing. 😅)

During our consultation call, A told me she wanted photos that were framable, free, and when I suggested taking portraits that would be a "Jane Austen Romance" kind of vibe, she knew we were on the same page.

Out on the hills, A kicked off her shoes, and the pair frolicked, romped, and laughed during the magic we created in that moment.

Following my couples through the stacks at ? Yes please!

I've been obsessed with Daedalus since I discovered its existence in high school. I love being able to introduce other book lovers to it as well, especially during an engagement session. :) E even found a book to buy during our nook-walk through the shelves!
