When planning your outfits for your newborn session think about how you want your photos to feel, not just how you want them to look. I will be there to capture the connection of your family regardless of the color palette you wear, but here are some things to keep in mind! Save this for later 🤍
✨ Start with soft, neutral tones
Creams, soft whites, beige, oatmeal, muted blush, sage, dusty blue. These tones photograph well and keep the focus where it belongs on your baby. Bright colors and bold patterns can pull attention away focus from their tiny details.
✨ How color can change the overall look of your photos (scroll through to see some examples)
• Light neutrals → airy, timeless, emotional
• Warm earth tones → cozy, intimate, organic
• Cool muted tones → calm, peaceful, serene
• Dark, saturated colors → dramatic and moody
✨Avoid neon colors and busy patterns, they reflect onto baby’s skin.
✨Choose texture over print.
✨Coordinate, don’t match.
If you feel stuck on what to wear or don’t have a clue, I can help! I have been postpartum 4 times now and I understand wanting to have photos while still not feeling like yourself yet. I can send you outfit inspiration or even help you choose items you already own!
