I’ve been sitting on this one for almost two months LOL it was too cute not to recreate!

Watching my body change has been hard but so worth it. I’m all outward belly at this point. If you stand directly in front of m or behind me… you really can’t tell if I’m pregnant (depending on what I’m wearing). BUT the moment I turn to the side you would think I was already 7 months pregnant. It’s amazing what a women’s body is capable of. I can’t wait to meet our baby girl! 🎀

There’s something wildly beautiful about being in the middle of becoming.

Not fully “ready.” Not perfectly planned. Just… half baked, growing, stretching, changing, and learning to love every version of myself along the way.

So instead of waiting for the “perfect” time, I stepped in front of my own camera and documented this—the cravings, the softness, the anticipation, the in-between.

Because motherhood doesn’t begin the day your baby arrives… it begins here. In the quiet moments. In the growing. In the half baked magic. ✨

And honestly? These may end up being some of my favorite images I’ve ever created. I can’t wait to meet you baby girl. 💗

There’s something so quiet and powerful about this season—the way he fits perfectly in her arms, the way time somehow feels slow and fleeting all at once.

These are the moments that deserve to be held onto. Not just the milestones, but the in-between—the snuggles, the soft smiles, the way he looks at her like she’s his whole world.

You know how our parents use to tell us as kids that time goes by quicker the older you get? We would roll our eyes and continue on thinking nothing of it. Gosh do we believe them now. I feel like I blink and loose three to six months.

Looking back and thinking how am I coming up on two years since I’ve been home to California. Knowing time hasn’t slows down and family members are getting older.

It’s almost been three years since I met the man that changed my world and the way I view love.

Come July it’ll be six years since I made the move to Virginia. The single decision that shaped the rest of my life.

This year is going to be filled with so many amazing moments. I truly wish there was a pause button. đź’—

There are so many emotions behind capturing a military homecoming. The months that built up to that moment for the families. The hours spent waiting at pier for their vessel to pull back in. Another hour waiting for them to depart the ship. The nerves, joy, excitement, tears… every emotion felt while waiting. It’s hard to compartmentalize when photographing these moments. I try but it doesn’t last long. Which is something I think makes me better as a photographer. I’m in those emotions with you capturing every moment. I wait with you for hours talking about everything under the sun. By the end of the day, we’ve made a connection far beyond me just being your photographer.
