I can’t begin to tell you how HARD this is.

Always trying to be “good enough” to book clients, to stay relevant, be your own HR/marketing/financial/etc department on top of connecting with clients, going to school, and working a full time job.

THIS S**T IS HARD.

But I dreamt of this. I wanted it more than anything. I loved this- still love this. But that doesn’t make it any LESS hard. Yet, when the feeling of “yeah, I did it. I did THAT” washes over you, nothing can compare. You feel a rush of excitement/ happiness/ joy/ love and you are ready to do everything all over again.

That’s THE feeling.

The one that makes hard become easy. The one that makes scared become excited. The one that makes comparison nonexistent.

I love doing this and I would do it for free if I could. If you are still looking for a wedding/elopement photographer, I am still booking 2026/2027 weddings/elopements. If you want someone that will not only listen, curate, and capture your legacy, but also become a support and friend throughout and beyond, I’m your girl.

Y’all, full transparency. This session STRESSED ME OUT! Yeah! I said it!

“But Courtnee… you tagged them! Don’t you think they will be upset?” NO! Because it was stressful for THEM too!

This is a long one, so buckle up!

This was one of the most hectic sessions I’ve ever shot because people around us were SO rude. We planned out the session, walked the grounds, and drove so we knew we could make it to all of our locations!

We were so excited to capture and love story + vibes they wanted!

The day comes and we were ready! We get to our first location and were met with some push back. We rolled with the punches and decided to keep going!

Feeling like our spirits were picking up, we headed to the next location! The Missions of Sam Jose! Gorgeous architecture and grounds were guarded by one of the most disrespectful, nasty, negative Park Rangers I have ever met.

We got there with 10 minutes to spare. Plenty of time and we were confident we would get the shots we wanted! She walked up to us, and stood there. Glaring. I paused and she said “we close in 5 minutes. You need to start exiting the property.” Not trying to cause a scene, we explained that we knew that and we would be gone, but spending time talking would cause us to stay longer than needed.

“State Police will be here at 5pm to es**rt you off the property and will arrest you.”

ExCuSe Me?…

Yes, you read that right! She THREATENED us while we were taking photos. Never have I ever! So I bucked up, told her to please leave us alone so we can finish and go and to not threaten us while we are trying to explain that we understand.

We left, were told that Police were on the way (we are already outside and she left other people walk in after us soooooooo 🤨)

At the end, we headed to Little Flower Basilica, the childhood school and church of Aidan, and ended our night joking around about how a random person was probably going to come chase us away! No one did, but we did get some honks and cheers to balance it out!

At the end, T stopped mid-step and said A looked like Prince Eric. Her own Prince.
