I had our outfits planned. Ready. Perfect. And then, as we all know too well, real life happened. 😅😂
Between extended family photos, the cold, the rain, and the muddy dog getting too excited and jumping on Lawson… the outfits didn’t happen. And the shoes? They didn’t even make it into the car—so they were sitting at home, 4 hours away. Queue the 😅😅😅
I had wanted a few photos of just us, but we looked nothing like what I pictured. I almost said, “Let’s just do it another time,” until I reminded myself of what I tell everyone else: 🙊
When you look back, you notice the smiles and the moments with the people you love—not the clothes. (And IF the clothes do bother you, you can always make it black & white. 😆🤣)
The truth is: it matters way more to make it a fun experience than to stress about what you’re wearing. You remember the experience above everything else. And honestly? What I want remembered most is the personalities, the connection, the kids’ silliness, and all the little in-between moments that make a photo magical. ✨
And listen, I still looooove a coordinated look, but I never want the lack of one to keep me (or you) from documenting life in its purest form.
So anyway—yes, we stepped out in the drizzle, muck boots and all (😬😅), and took the photos. And maybe you can relate, but they weren’t styled the way I imagined… and that’s okay, because this is us. It’s real. And I love that more than anything. 🥰
P.S. What shoes you wear is none of my business. Lawson said it best: “We can just crop it out.” 🤪🤣
