This is a composited image of Comet C/2022 (E3) ZTF and the first quarter moon phase. Both were taken in the same location at the same time. I wanted to show both in one photo as a complete image to what they both looked like in that moment.
A special thanks to for his what’s in the night sky videos as well as his moon editing tutorial. Alyn, I know you’re not a big fan of composites, but hopefully you understand what I was going with here 😂.
Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) will be the brightest on February 1, 2023. Though, still visible the comet will be competing with the Moons 90% luminance. Either way, take the chance to go out and see comet c/2022 because it only passes Earth every 50,000 years.
