Marriage has been a series of adventures with my best friend. We recently decided we wanted to start a business together! It’s scary and exciting and I am overjoyed that I get to create with my husband!
Speaking of create…check out our art wall makeover!! I absolutely love how paint can transform even a small space like this! I used urbane bronze and loved how it gave this space some depth!!

I got so used to people telling me who I was, wasn’t and who I should be that it took me being in my 40’s to finally be comfortable with who I said I was!!
A little advice, if you want it, but true freedom comes when you decide on who you are and what you want in life. It will never come from trying to fit into a mold that someone else made for you, it will never come from the opinions of others.
Please choose what YOUR happiness looks like, what success means to YOU and never do it for anyone else. Let them talk, laugh, gag, or however else they choose to react to YOUR life!! You will be so busy living that you won’t notice..I promise😉🥰

8 years ago I met this beautiful man I am blessed to call my husband. We met in a bar, 4 1/2 hours away from where I lived. He was working and I was there for a hair show. I was not looking for anyone, but thankfully higher powers were looking out for me. I liked him very quickly, anyone who’s ever met him can understand. He was easy to talk to and easy on the eyes lol, but it was his consistency that won me over. From this day, 8 years ago, we’ve communicated every single day…through the passing of family and friends, through a bitter divorce and all the life in between…he was there.
He continues to be there, through the stress, mental illness and life’s drama…he’s there, and he has turned out to be the gift I never thought I would have. I’ve loved before without reciprocation, I’ve chased others out of fear of refection and abandonment and it still led me to being alone…
It was all worth it though because it allows me to appreciate this love even more. It’s shown me that no matter your age or place in life, you are deserving of a great love.
We celebrate the day we met because it was the beginning of a life altering journey that led us both to a peace and a fulfillment that we both searched for!
Happy “first day of meeting” Anniversary babe!! Now let’s get ready for our day date!!!!

Allow me to reintroduce myself..
My name is Mariaelissa but most people on this platform know me as Maya. Maya is the first initials of my children’s names, they have always been my driving force in life, my reasons for so many things. They saved me and gave me purpose during times when I felt completely worthless. I once lived an entirely different life, one that allows me to feel nothing but gratitude for what I currently have. That’s why I celebrate EVERYTHING!! I am the one who will throw a dinner party for the smallest of occasions, the one who will cram a ton of people into my small home in order to cater to them and show them love through food and hospitality. I prayed and dreamed for days like this, I worked hard for this. So as life changes, so has my passions. I am so excited to finally claim my purpose and then share it with you through my art and my lens. I am overjoyed to finally have a home that has my name on the deed, and to have that major accomplishment with the man who has helped me grow beyond what I thought was possible!! We are living what we once dreamed of and because of that I want to share that journey with you! I want to show you how to love your home, no matter the size or location. I want to show you how to love yourself because growth teaches you that loving yourself has to come before anything else! I want to show you that life can begin again and again and again. I want to show you that a woman in her 40’s can feel more powerful, confident, and even more youthful than she did in her 20’s!
And for those who have watched my life crumble and then rebuild , I want to honor you by continuing to live the life that makes me the happiest. So thank you all for being such huge supporters of me, I hope you enjoy this new journey with me!!

He’s been my constant, the one person I can truly count on. He’s seen me through financial hardships, mental breakdowns and sadly many losses since we’ve been together. I have always given my heart freely but it was not always taken care of, until he came along. Every Holiday season, I can rely on the fact that this man truly sees me and supports me in every possible way he can. I don’t feel alone, I don’t feel like I have to do it all, he comes in and helps with whatever he can to reduce my stress and provide me a peace I’ve prayed for for so long. I literally don’t need much in this world, I just want to love and be loved in the most honest and raw way. Finding that peace has given me a gift that I wake up grateful for everyday and it’s one I share with you because I spent too many years chasing after love as if I had to earn it.
When you find the right one, you don’t have to chase. When you find inner peace, no one can steal that from you.
I’m praying for peace this Holiday season, for you to feel it at its full capacity and then for you to take it into this next year!!

Give me that real love, that don’t care what anyone else thinks kind of love! I lived for YEARS doing what others wanted, what was expected of me, and it only led me to not trusting myself. When you don’t trust your decisions, when you let others opinions define who you are, you will allow others to treat you how they see fit and not how you deserve. I had to do the work to undo years of voices that directed my every move. But once I started walking the path of loving and trusting myself again, that’s when I started to believe how deserving I was. That’s when I started to eliminate what was no longer for me, and make room for what was for me. I started giving attention to what was most important and set goals for myself, for my future self. Sometimes you see the “after” of my life and I just want to remind you that this took years to find, and it took years for me to be ready for it. So please be patient, work on what you can control…YOU💕 Learn how to listen to that voice inside and most of all learn to trust yourself!! 💕
