Celebrating Surgical Technologist Week!
To celebrate Surgical Technologist Week, I thought I would share with all of you a little bit about my other job—the one I’ve been doing for over 20 years!
While you know me as Contessa from Contessa’s Photography, I am also a Surgical Technologist, and it’s a career that I find just as rewarding as capturing all of your special moments.
My heart will always have a special place for Orthopedics! 🦴 I’ve had the opportunity to work at University of Iowa Hospitals, St. Luke’s in the OR and Labor & Delivery, and for the last 6 years, I’ve had the honor of working right here in Vinton at Virginia Gay Hospital.
Photography and being a Surgical Technologist may seem like two completely different worlds, but both allow me to be part of people’s lives during important moments. One lets me help capture memories that last a lifetime, while the other allows me to be part of helping people through some of their most important moments.
I’m incredibly grateful for both careers and for all of the amazing people I’ve met along the way.
