Most people who know me know why I haven't been working and have had to turn down photo shoots, but for those who don't know me personally, I feel the need to explain my absence. In January of 2022, my husband and I were in a serious car accident, our car was totaled and my back was injured. I spent the next year trying chiropractic care, physical therapy, acupuncture, and various other treatment options in hopes of avoiding surgery. Ultimately, it was decided that the only way for my back to heal was with surgery. I met four surgeons before picking one and in October of 2023 I had a discectomy. My surgery was supposed to be under 40 minutes but ended up taking over 2 hours. When the surgeon came out he told my husband that it was much worse than the MRI had previously shown. Fast forward past recovery & physical therapy (again) to yesterday where I was finally able to enjoy a photoshoot. Of course, it's my family, but it was so wonderful to be behind the camera again, and I'm happy to announce I'll be booking spring sessions after Easter Sunday.
