I spent Christmas my entire childhood in Iowa. It was always cold, sometimes snowy. When we would drive by a football field I always wondered what it would like to play football in Iowa. I lived in Indiana, where basketball was king. Well, last year I got to finally experience it with a playoff game between Pella and Decorah (an absolute nail biter that ended 7-6, and saw the Dutch advancing) and last night I was luckily enough to watch #5 Sioux City East trade blows with Des Moines Roosevelt. I want to stress how awesome Iowa High School Athletic Association football is. From the school staff, to the coaches, to the refs and the players they have my upmost respect. I am truly blessed to get the opportunities I get. What a weekend to be in the state of Iowa for football! God is GREAT!
