“The Purple Side”

One of the best parts of Island Photography I believe is the ability to capture the whole spectrum of colors over the ocean at the same time.

Sometimes the clouds might fade out the sun rising or setting and you can just turn around and capture the purple side.

Then other times it hard to pick what side to
watch…🙏

Good Evening my Friends!

Well, I may have learned where my distrust for government comes.😆

In a grave not far from here lies the remains of my 6th great grandfather. Son of William Pierce who lived in Boston and was known as the oldest barber in the country living till 92. Apparently his shop was located behind the historic “Union Oyster House” 

William was also a member of the
“Sons of Liberty” and before his passing, the last surviving member of the Boston Tea party.
Also sed to be friends and council for John Adams.

His son Thomas settled here in the Fox Islands with his wife Elizabeth Hudson Pierce and a handful of other founding families. Starting there legacy on the island with 12 children.

True Story
I once caught a 4.25lbs Salmon out of here.
It was the first or second year that Berkeley came out with “power bait”.
My Brother and I slayed the trout that day, then I hooked on to that monster.

The hardest part of landing it was the fact I was using a little ultra light setup, with 4lb ultra thin line.

I fought that baby till for over 40 mins till the fish came up to the top and my brother was able to grab it.
