With the recent court ruling involving AI-generated images of children, I think this is an important conversation for photographers, business owners, and especially parents to have.
Technology is changing incredibly fast and unfortunately, there are people who will use it in ways it was never intended to be used.
As a mom and as a photographer, I believe our babies are some of the most precious and important people in this world, and protecting them should always come first.
I also want to be transparent about what this means for Heart of Hoye Photography.
I will not be removing every image of children from my website or social media. Photography is my livelihood, and being able to showcase the work I create is a huge part of how families find me, trust me, and ultimately choose me to capture their memories.
However, the decision of whether your child is shared publicly will always be one I will ALWAYS respect.
If you do not want your child’s photos shared on my website, Facebook, Instagram, advertising, or other public platforms, simply tell me. No explanation is necessary. I will happily honor that request.
Every family has a different comfort level when it comes to their children and the internet, and I don’t believe it is my place to make that decision for you.
I am proud of the beautiful work I create, and I will continue sharing it with permission and consideration for the families who trust me. But when it comes to your babies, you are the parent, and you get the final say.
Their safety will always be more important than a social media post. 🤍
Love, Desiree
