In April I attended (virtually) the Animal Image Makers Conference. I entered 4 images into the print competition, and I was pleased that all four merited (scored 80 or above). The one of Violet my foster bunny scored the highest, and was in the top 10 in its category.

During the first few months of quarantine, I borrowed a few puppies from friends to have a little fun on the studio while waiting for things to open back up. My daughter was my trusty assistant and we enjoyed getting a little puppy time to break up the boredom. Now I've been able to do more regular sessions, but I am still happy to have some puppy time before my assistant starts back at school next week.

Several years ago I fostered Spotty and his baby. I adopted the baby (Leia), and another local family adopted Spotty. Today he came to the studio for some portraits with his baby brother. It's so fun to see how similar he is to my Leia.

Update: ADOPTED!

Six-year-old Trixie has the cuuuutest face! She was brought to us because her owner could no longer care for her. They said she's a friendly dog who loves to get attention, has lived with kids and can get energetic, is friendly with other dogs but sometimes doesn't know when to stop playing, and has just ignored the cats she's been around. She's been super friendly with everyone here, even when she was bathed (including ear cleaning and nail trimming). Trixie has some medical stuff going on that adopters will need to be prepared to manage for the rest of her life; we'll share all her info with anyone who is interested. You can email us for more info, or just come on in to visit and chat in person. In short, Trixie will need an adopter who is prepared to have a good relationship with their veterinarian to manage her health issues. She is so sweet and such a good dog, she's worth it! And we know there's someone out there who will be perfect for this little squish!! Come visit her when we open tomorrow at noon!

Happy first day of Autumn!!! Cooler weather, crunchy leaves, pumpkins and mums, hay bales, scarecrows, and yes even pumpkin spice everything - here we come! How better to celebrate the beginning of Autumn than with pumpkin kittens?

Meet Sadie! She is a beautiful senior dog in search of a slow-paced, loving retirement home where she can soak up the sun, get lots of love and attention, and not have to deal with too many stairs. Simply put, this girl is sweet as can be. Her previous caretaker said that she is housebroken, has very nice manners in the home, and gets along with kids, other dogs, cats--pretty much everyone! She's calm, laid back, and just wants everyone to get along. Our volunteers and staff have fallen in love with this gentle girl, and we think you will too. Come for a visit! We're open Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm, and Tuesdays-Fridays 12-7pm. But... we hope sweet Sadie gets adopted this weekend. :)
