Some days the hardest part of my job isn’t shooting. It’s choosing what to share.

My portfolio is so expansive that narrowing it down feels impossible. There’s so much beauty, so many moments, so many stories… and somehow I’m supposed to pick a few and call it enough.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And then there’s the pressure to “keep up.” To post more, share more, show more, be online more....more, More, MORE!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But the truth is, when I’m not on location, my life is pretty simple. I work my hours, I close the studio, & I’m present with my family, my husband, & myself. Should that really count against me?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I care deeply about what I create for my clients. That’s where my energy goes. Not into chasing an algorithm.

There’s a weight to what I do that I don’t think I’ll ever get used to.

Being trusted to document one of the most meaningful days of someone’s life…to preserve it in a way that lasts far beyond the moment itself. It’s an honor I carry with me every time I pick up a camera.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My connection to photography has always been personal. After experiencing memory loss when I was younger, it became a way to hold onto what time can so easily take.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A way to remember. A way to notice.

Austin this past week with has my mind bursting at the seams.

Sometimes all it takes is a change of scenery to remind you that there are still so many ways to see the world.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Lately my mind has been spinning with new ideas, new perspectives, and a lot of inspiration I didn’t see coming.

A good reminder that growth usually starts quietly. Less focus on applause. More focus on the work. The results will make the noise.
