Please join us next month for the next Arthera Micro Retreat with special guest Arielle Estoria. This event will be held at The Porch Café & Bakery located in The Centre Office and Retail. Come for an afternoon to feel, to be nourished in word and around a gathering table. Let the noise of the outside world melt away for a few hours and come with open hearts and empty hands so we can fill them your light reflected back to you and you can put pen to paper in a workshop led by Arielle helping you find the words hidden within. We will end our time together with joyful portraits reminding you of the magic you carry and how beautifully it's pulled to the surface with love and support from other women.

On Sunday, November 15, I’m hosting A Table for Her: The Abundance Is You, an Arthera Micro Retreat at The Porch Café & Bakery in Versailles, Ohio. It’s a gathering long table, 15 women, and an afternoon built around nourishing you.

Here’s what’s waiting for you:
+ An abundant grazing table, open all afternoon
+ A poetry written for the women in the room by Poet and Author Arielle Estoria
+ A writing workshop where you’ll learn to write a poem that is meaningful to you (no experience needed!)

Some shoots just hit differently. I met Jen in 2024, we felt an instant connection. She’s the kind of person who makes you feel seen the second she walks into the room. Knowing how long and hard she fought to grow her family made standing behind the camera for this session such an honor. Every frame felt sacred and tender. Jen, watching you step into this chapter and having the opportunity to capture it for you, is a gift I’ll never forget.

They say the third time’s a charm and this one didn’t disappoint. August weather had other plans and we rescheduled more than once, but I finally got to spend the evening with the Millers, soaking up one of the last sun-drenched days of summer and it was worth every bit of the wait. When I think of summer, I’ll think of this session and all the sweet little moments that brought me right back to being a kid in the golden sun. Thank you, Amanda Miller, for always trusting me with your family’s memories. 🩵

I’ve known Trista for years, but this was my first time really meeting her daughter Matty. What a beautiful way to meet someone: watching her come into her own in real time.
We started slow, soft studio light, the kind of stillness where you can actually see someone. Then we hit the road. Windows down, Bad Bunny blasting, and this girl came alive. Arm out the window, hair everywhere, laughing at the sky like she didn’t have a single thing to prove.
Somewhere in between the quiet and the loud, I got to witness something I wasn’t expecting, not the girl her mom has talked about all these years and not yet the woman she’s headed toward, but exactly who she is right now. Unfiltered, unrehearsed, and absolutely radiant in the in-between.
This is what The Becoming Series is for. A record of a girl mid-transformation — sure of herself in ways she probably doesn’t even realize.
Getting to be trusted with this by a dear friend I’ve known so long and by the daughter I’m only just getting to know is not lost on me. Thank you doesn’t quite cover it.
Welcome to this next chapter, sweet girl. It’s going to be so good. 🤍

That is re-emerging

Not becoming someone new. But recognizing someone you thought you lost a long time ago.

For me, it’s felt like climbing into the attic of my own life and finding boxes I hadn’t opened in years. Opening one. Brushing off the dust. Breathing it in.

And realizing — she was here the whole time.

What I finally understood was that I had been missing safety. Real safety. The kind that lives inside you, not around you. The moment I found it, truly found it, I put down the armor I no longer needed.

She had been there the whole time.

Alayna Rindler and I met for coffee before this session and connected instantly — the kind of meeting that felt more like catching up with an old friend. We share the same passion for bringing women together and building community.

Then came the day of the session, and it felt like stepping back in time. From the wallpaper to the lace curtains, I felt right at home instantly. Not only could I feel the warmth of the oven baking fresh rolls, but I could feel the love this kitchen held. The kind where you want to pull up a chair and hear all the stories these walls have held.

She allowed me into such a special place, her late grandmother’s kitchen, to capture her baking there as this chapter soon comes to a close and she opens the doors to The Porch Café & Bakery here in Versailles.

The same kitchen where she once sat snapping green beans beside her grandmother, she now stands baking. Her hands full of flour instead of beans, carrying that same love forward into something entirely her own. Thank you for letting me be a part of something so special. I can’t wait to see what your shop brings to our community. 🤍

A few years ago Megan was someone I was just getting to know. Until we ended up at our husbands’ 20 year class reunion two years ago and bonded over warm b**r and sweaty lip lines.

Fast forward to this May, she reached and asked me to photograph her family, and I was so honored! It means everything to me when someone trusts me with capturing their story. No matter what this season of life looks like.

Thanks to the family questionnaire she filled out I knew her favorite song, so we played Wonderwall on repeat. Watched while her younger girls jumped into the pond, cracked jokes, played a game of spoons, and ran barefoot.

This is the kind of session I hope every family remembers. Not because everyone smiled at the camera, but because it felt like a day they would have wanted anyway. The photos simply became part of it.

That’s the magic I’m always chasing.

Something lived in.

Something honest.

Something unmistakably you.
