After listening to an interview with the sister of Davion Flanagan- I questioned HOW she could be so full of GRACE and GOD'S LOVE through such horrific circumstances and events in her life.
But I guess I have an idea how. Kinda. Sorta. Maybe. 🥹
Today, I am sitting in the same courthouse (and maybe same room-- we are waiting!) where my family spent countless hours and tears, during the aftermath of our most horrific life event. I've been back to this building once, since the trial. ...
And it was for the adoption of a beautiful, bright, kind, little girl named Camilla. Today, I am here again, for the adoption of her two brothers, Chase & Kai. ...
It is because of people like Stephanie & Andrew, that children can survive such horrific circumstances and events in their life, just like Davion's sister-- who, was also adopted, as a sibling unit (of three), into the home of GOD FEARING parents.
So that's how. Life can be awful and ugly and horrible. But it can also be bright and joyful and happy.
Today, if I have to walk into the same damn courtroom as I did so many times before, again, I will smile, with joy in my heart knowing that my friends are a beacon of light in the dark, that their children are loved fiercely and that this courthouse doesn't have to be remembered as a place of horrors.
