I feel a little sick to my stomach sharing something so vulnerable. However, I have overcome this. With the help of therapy, anti-depression meds, friends, and art.
I am not sharing for sympathy, attention, or what have you. I am sharing to bring attention to the fact that postpartum depression is a killer. In more than one way. I know many women who have gone through it. This is just my story, what I went through.
I hope that people will see that there are ways to help, that it is ok to get help, and if you don't feel comfortable asking someone you know, than I am here. I will help you find the help that you need. Because sometimes we don't have support systems. We just need to remember, moms are still humans.
We are all just humans living through tumultuous times. Give each other a break. Be kind.
Feel free to share this if you think it could help someone.
