I am so happy to announce that for the first time ever, my photographs will be available for purchase THIS SATURDAY at the Wine Walk in Downtown Ventura! You can find me and my booth on California & Main st from 11 to 6:30. I have been cultivating this collection of images for several years now and am truly proud of the diversity that I have created in my work. Both landscape and wildlife stills will be available for purchase; some of these I have shared on this page and some I have not.

This process has been intensive and at times even emotional. It has been as much an investment in myself as it is in my business. Today I look back at that 19 year old kid picking up his first camera with a tender heart. I didn't know then that photography would become a part of my life in the way that it has and this feels like a real milestone for me. So, if you happen to be in the area, come and say hi!

As soon as I arrived at Joshua Tree National Park I became captivated by the almost otherworldly beauty of its most iconic inhabitant, the Joshua Tree. These giants spend their lives battling drought, frost, and scorching heat, yet they still radiate a peaceful and gentle strength.

As I walked through the park one morning, I came across a fallen Joshua Tree. At first, it seemed worn and weathered, as if it were bowing down to its surroundings. But after a closer look, I realized that this tree was not giving up - it was rising up. Its once branching limbs now firmly rooted in the ground, anchoring into the desert clay. Its leaves turned upwards, gazing at the mountain in the distance, and meeting it eye-eye.

As you look at this image, I hope that this tree shows you a reflection of your own strength and resilience. You too may have faced adversity, but you are putting down roots, you are looking up, and you are ready to climb that mountain in the distance; and whatever that mountain may be, know that I am rooting for you every step of the way.

I recently turned 24 and on the first morning of this next season, I took some time to reflect on the previous 365 days that I had lived. My 23rd year was a time of immense growth, change, and uncertainty. It brought laughter, opportunities to explore new places, and moments of deep connection - not to mention slobbery kisses, muddy paw prints, and more than a few beach days with Zinny.
I learned that life is about quality over quantity, and that every moment has the potential to be special. I made a conscious decision to focus on the present, to do a little more living and a lot less posting. Now, as I enter into my 24th year, I am excited to share with you some of the beauty that I found out there in the world; I hope you love it as much as I do!

Thank you for being a part of my journey, take a breath and enjoy the view.

This picture was taken about a year and a half ago at a wildlife preserve tucked into the heart of a Denver suburb. To someone that wasn't explicitly aware of its presence the preserve could easily go unnoticed amongst the neighboring factories that populate Commerce City. Though this preserve's location is very unusual, it is not the only odd thing about its history. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor, the U.S. Army transformed the area into a chemical weapons manufacturing facility called the Rocky Mountain Arsenal to support World War II. Chemical manufacturing facility turned animal sanctuary, it is now home to a multitude of animals seeking refuge from colorado's rapid urbanization. Among those is a large heard of native Colorado bison.

America was once stwearded by indigenous communities that had a symbiotic relationship with the land that surrounded them. They saw the importance of nature and took responsibility for the ecosystems that they participated in. Unfortunately, years of colonization interupted this relationship at a great cost to many of the native species that once proudly roamed these planes. The bison population was amongst these and after years of over hunting their numbers dwindled to the point of near extinction.

After decades of rehabilitation the bison population still face repercussions for those actions. When looking at these majestic visions of the past it is hard not to be inspired by their resilience and beauty. Maybe we can all take a lesson from their story and remember the importance of respecting the world around us and nurturing the environments that we so desperately need. Go outside, take a deep breath, and be grateful for the beauty in the world around you. It's our job to keep it that way 🌏❤
