After moving to Taiwan and selling almost everything we owned, we realized how much better our lives have been living with less. Neither of us were hoarders or kept too too much around before, but we quickly became aware of our excesses once they were removed. We kept lists of what we actually used each day and have remained diligent in reducing the things we buy. As we started decorating our place in California, we wanted to keep it light, minimal and airy. Was each item functional? Necessary? That goes for furniture, utensils, appliances, clothes, our food. Even old keepsakes. Reducing our consumption and things around us not only helps the environment, but has helped clear up the clutter in our minds! We feel more creative, less stressed and less overwhelmed each day. Are there things you could do without? Do you want to reduce more and if so, do you struggle with it?
