One of the biggest myths in beach photography?

That once the sun goes down... portrait time is over.

Not even close.

By the time we finished Zule & John's ceremony, the sun had already set behind a blanket of clouds. Most people would think it was simply too dark for beautiful portraits.

This is where experience—and a little off-camera flash magic—makes all the difference.

Using carefully placed lighting, we were able to create crisp, beautifully lit portraits while preserving the incredible blue-hour sky behind them. The result is a set of images that feel natural, romantic, and full of atmosphere... even though it was nearly dark outside.

Honestly, these became some of our favorite images of the entire day.

Don't be afraid if your wedding day doesn't include a picture-perfect sunset. Sometimes cloudy evenings create the most beautiful light of all—you just need a photographer who knows how to use it.

Zule & John, you absolutely trusted the process, and we're so glad you did. ❤️

There are wedding days that go exactly as planned... and then there are the ones that keep everyone watching the weather radar all day long.

Saturday was one of those days.

For Zule & John's beach wedding at North Jetty Beach in Nokomis, the forecast was filled with rain and thunderstorms all weekend. We spent the day hoping the skies would give us just enough of a break for their ceremony.

And somehow... they did.

As family gathered on the beach, the rain stayed away. Thick clouds stretched across the sky, but every so often the sun found a way to add some color here and there, creating the most beautiful soft light. With the ceremony beginning at 8:00 PM, we knew daylight would disappear quickly, but it couldn't have been a more perfect evening for these two to say "I do."

A huge thank you to Avis from Simple Seaside Ceremonies for another beautiful ceremony. It was such a pleasure working together.

Congratulations, Zule & John! Thank you for trusting us to capture such an incredible evening. We can't wait to share what happened after the ceremony... because that's where the magic really began.

This special babymoon maternity session at Venice Beach was all about slowing down, soaking in this incredible season of life, and celebrating the exciting journey into parenthood. The soft coastal light gave us the perfect setting to capture the anticipation, love, and quiet moments before everything changes.

We hope every image brings back the excitement, the joy, and the memories of this beautiful evening.

This evening on Siesta Key Beach brought together an incredible mix of family, lifelong friends, new beginnings, and one very special birthday surprise. It was a celebration of the love they share, the laughter between them, and the memories they're creating together.

With one of Siesta Key's gorgeous sunsets as the backdrop, we captured hugs, plenty of laughs, and so many genuine moments of connection. These are the kinds of sessions that remind us that the people who mean the most in our lives aren't always defined by labels—they're the ones who show up, love unconditionally, and choose to be part of each other's journey.

Thank you all for trusting us to capture such a meaningful evening. It was one we'll be thinking about for a long time. ❤️
