This is the Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura) The Turkey Vulture is common in Florida. Also called Turkey Buzzards, they are relatively easy to identify, as they are all black, with a bald red head and a pinkish bill. The name derives from their loose resemblance to a Wild Turkey.

This is a Sherman's fox squirrel is a subspecies of the fox squirrel. It lives in the US states of Florida and Georgia in fire-prone areas of longleaf pine and wiregrass, especially around sandhills. A tree squirrel, the Sherman's fox species has lost much of its habitat to farming and development! ❤️❤️

Unfortunately with the odd weather this weekend we were not able to capture what we set out to shoot. Next weekend is looking very promising. And maybe a couple days this week we will be able to spot some hawks or eagles. ❤️
