The Things We Keep

A first little look at Christmas 2026!

There have been so many changes happening at the studio lately, and I'm beyond excited for everyone to see them! Beyond all the Christmas decorating, I've been making quite a few changes to the building itself, and things are really starting to look different around the place.

There's still plenty more to share, but I wanted to give everyone a little peek of what's to come in the main room.

Photographer friends, please feel free to use these photos to advertise your Christmas sessions and share with your clients! I'd love to see these spaces filled with all the beautiful moments you'll capture this season. 🤎

Well, I couldn’t quite stop at three! 🤎

Thank you so much to everyone who entered the giveaway, shared the post, and tagged their photographer friends. I loved seeing so many familiar names and some new ones, too!

With so many of you wanting to come create, I decided to give away FIVE one-hour studio rentals instead of three!

Congratulations to our winners!

Photographer friends! Just dropping a quick note to share one last time that you have until 8:00 p.m. today to get your entries in to win one of three free one hour studio rentals. Check the original post for details! 🤎

A little giveaway for my photographer friends. 🤎

The studio has changed so much lately, and after spending the last few months reworking these rooms, I’m really excited to see them being used again by those of you who have created here before, and hopefully by some new faces too.

So, I’m giving away three one-hour studio rentals to three different photographers.

Bring a client, plan something you’ve been wanting to shoot, grab a photographer friend and create just for fun — whatever you’ve had in mind, the hour is yours. I can’t wait to see these rooms filled with your ideas, too.

To enter:
• Follow The Things We Keep on Facebook and Instagram
• Like this post
• Tag a photographer friend in the comments
• Share this post for an extra entry

Three photographers will be chosen, and each will get one hour in the studio.

The winners will be announced Monday, September 28th.

Good luck! 🤎

I’ve had Christmas on my mind for a while now, so here’s a little look at what I’ve been saving, collecting, and pulling inspiration from for the studio this year. 🤎

Christmas will start making its way into The Things We Keep throughout October, and I’ll share each space as it takes shape. By the very end of the month, the whole studio will be ready for Christmas sessions.

There will be something a little different in each room, but this is the feeling tying it all together.

Christmas dates are open now, too, for anyone who wants to claim theirs before all of the spaces are finished and revealed.

I’ve been spending just about every spare minute I have at the studio lately, and I’m finally ready to start letting you all in. 🤎

Over the last couple of months, I’ve been slowly revamping and finishing pretty much the entire space - the stairs, the bathroom, the ceilings, the rooms. Every room has changed in some way, and it’s been so fun watching all of the little ideas I’ve had for this place finally start coming together.

There are still things I want to add and change, because I don’t think I’ll ever be completely done with this place, but I’m so excited about where it is right now.

So, bookings are officially open and all studio rentals during the month of October are 25% off. Use code 25TTWK at checkout to snag the deal!

Whether you’ve rented from me before or have been waiting for an excuse to come check it out, I would love to have you here. I’m especially excited to see what everyone does with all of the new spaces. 🤎

My Christmas moodboards will be posted next week - I cannot wait to show you what I'm dreaming up!

Hi, it’s me, Mikayla. 🤎

I’ve been keeping a few things to myself over here, and I’m really happy to finally share one of them with you.

There’s a new chapter beginning for the studio, and I’ve been so excited to start letting you in on a little bit of what’s ahead. A new name, a new look, and lots of changes to the spaces themselves.

So, say hello to The Things We Keep, a place for photographs and the stories they hold.

There’s still so much I’m working on and so much I’m looking forward to sharing. New photos of the spaces and booking details will be coming very soon, but for now, I’m just really happy to finally share this little piece of what’s to come.

Thank you for being here. I really hope you love it as much as I do.
