I used to be so terrified of skeletons. I called them “cracker jackers” and had constant nightmares about them. My parents had no idea what I kept talking about until one day I think we sat down with an encyclopedia to puzzle it out. This day has become a part of the way I’ve moved from fear to reflection to remembrance around death. It’s an opportunity to honor those whose time has passed and remember what they loved in life. Thinking of some special peeps today and I hope you are too. 🖤

Trying to focus on self-care this weekend. Full moon. Time change. Other big change in our near future? Putting fresh cuts around always helps keep me a little bit calmer when things feel stressful (And change always stresses me out) 😳 Today I picked up some eucalyptus and basically filled my entire bathroom with it. I figure, should the worst case scenario occur, I can create a steam room and be forced to mellow out a little. Wishing you some care as we take stock and prepare for what lies ahead. 🌿🌕💫

Wise words from my therapist, even though it may not always feel like it, change is happening all around us at all times. I get so mired in feeling stuck sometimes, especially when things don’t feel great and they appear to be stuck for a long, long time (ahem), but if we can pull ourselves out just a bit to remember that everything is constantly in motion, it helps a little. Thank u, next. 👉

I am an introvert. I’m also generally a fairly social person, so it’s tricky. But ooooooweee do I crave to be in my own thoughts just listening to music or taking walks (or binging really really bad television). It’s my way to recharge. Last month we dipped awaay to a nearby gem when it was still smoky and the sky was thick. Adventuring wasn’t what it usually is, but it was quiet and peaceful and I was able to find a bit of space.✨

Pumpkin art has been one of the small joys I’ve found throughout all the madness of 2020. Playing with paints should be something all adults get to do from time to time. 💙

Where do I start with ? Let’s start by giving a shout out to the power of community. A couple of weeks ago I reached out to offer local women/minority-owned businesses and non-profits some photos to aid in their marketing, and I was lucky enough to have a friend pass my info along to the chefs behind this amazing Seattle popup. They’re the team behind in Greenwood/Phinney and y’all, they are wonderful.

They’ve made BrunchBox a 1 to 1 model. For every box someone purchases, they give a box to someone who needs it. They do it through a weekly community lunch with the Highland Park Improvement Club in West Seattle. The food is a scrumptious mix of feel good flavors and their vibes are happy and hip-hop infused. Honestly, what could be better? So happy we got connected and that I was able to work with them to help spread a little goodness out into the world. If you’re in the mood for some tasty brunch on a Sunday - get your pre-order in!

I’m still looking for more folks to photograph as we move through this moment together. If you know of anyone, please send them the link in my bio! Thank you! ✨
