Story time: You see that lace in Brenna & Quinnâs detail shot? That lace is from Brennaâs grandmotherâs wedding dress, which her mother had worn at her wedding as well. Leading up to her wedding, Brenna had told me that her grandmotherâs health wouldnât allow her to attend the wedding, but that she wanted her presence to still be there. In the second photo youâll see her lace sewn into the lining of her gown - once by her feet to walk with her and once by her heart to be with her. In our final meeting together, Brenna told me it was really important to her to have this lace photographed. I could tell she couldnât really picture how she wanted this photo to look, but it was important none the less. Instead of just snapping a photo of the lace on the dress and moving along to the next thing, I suggested we make a special moment out of it. At the end of getting ready, I had Brenna sit down with her mom and show her where the lace is, as her mom hadnât seen it yet. This moment was even more important and special than we had planned it to be, because just two days prior Brennaâs sweet grandmother passed away. When I asked her how she was coping, she replied itâs ok, because now that sheâs in heaven she will be with them at the wedding, looking down on all the fun and excitement of the day and smiling upon them â¤ď¸ Her response was so true, and was especially touching to me because I had just lost my grandmother a month before my own wedding. In the first photo, amongst all of Brenna & Quinnâs special details, you see a blue ring box - my grandmotherâs ring box. Given to me with a ring of herâs on my wedding day. Something borrowed and blue, for Brenna đ Iâm so humbled to be invited to capture such special moments in your lives. So, so humbled and forever grateful.
