Dark cabinetry absorbs light instead of reflecting it, which means detail disappears quickly if it’s photographed with ambient light alone.
In the PNW, where natural light can be inconsistent (especially in fall and winter), relying on window light alone can flatten a space like this.
In higher-end homes, finishes like these are part of what justify the price. If cabinetry looks muddy online, buyers subconsciously discount the space before they ever step inside.
Our job isn’t just to brighten a room. It’s to preserve texture, contrast, and dimension so the materials feel as rich in photos as they do in person.
Because when presentation drops, perceived value drops with it.
