"Shutter & Soul"
I still hear your laughter in the quietest room,
A spark of sunlight that cuts through the gloom.
You were a lens for the world, both keen and kind,
Capturing beauty others left behind.
A brother not by blood, but heart and grace,
Always showing up with a joke and a face
That could soften stone, calm the tide —
You never let pain on your own side reside.
You gave more than most ever dream to give,
Taught us what it truly means to live.
With a camera in hand, and music in air,
You found stories where others saw bare.
And though you're not here to crack that next line,
To hum that tune or say "I'm fine,"
I carry your voice in the songs that remain,
In each frame I see through a windowpane.
You lived with a rhythm, a shutter’s soft beat,
Turning moments to memories no time could delete.
And though grief now rests where your laughter stood,
You'd want us to smile — you always would.
So here's to you, my brother, my friend —
This bond we had knows no end.
I miss you beyond what these words can show,
But I’m better for the love you let me know.
I miss you brother from another mother.
