“My life grew and became small
The moment that I met your soul
A brand new yet familiar cry
When you came into our life.
It’s funny how a moment can
Begin to change your whole life plan.
I wanted to make history
Those dreams are now a memory
Though it might not feel noteworthy,
this is beautiful and holy.
Every step we take is forming
History.”

Sometimes a good thing is not the right thing— this last week we let go of a startup that we had poured a year of work into. It can be so hard to choose to walk away from something you’ve poured so much time and resources into, but it often can be keeping you from doing the things you were born to do. We talk about this, my unexpected music journey over the past year, walking away from wedding videography and focusing in on photo, buying another investment property, and more about the twists and turns of entrepreneurship on today’s podcast reboot episode! Comment PODCAST and we’ll send you the link!

It’s time to get real. To be zero focused on storytelling.

Less sunset photos —> more candids at your childhood home.

Less perfect posing —> more being ready for the real moment to unfold.

Less predictable Pinterest copies —> more custom and thoughtful.

AI is changing everything about the industry. Couples crave real. They crave something that helps them reach back and touch a moment. It’s time to listen, lean in, and become more intentional than ever.

my favorite moment from yesterday’s newborn session—> photo 3. Mom snuggled in to baby and he immediately turned his head to be close to her. 🥹

This is why I work so hard to learn perfect posing— so when the real story unfolds, we can get those real life, one of a kind moments.

This home started as a second space for our clients when they come to visit family. Now it’s a place for others to gather, rest, and feel at home

Just minutes from Wesley Medical Center and near College Hill, this cottage was thoughtfully created to be an oasis; whether you’re a medical professional needing a reset or a family staying close to a loved one

Inside, the design is a unique fusion of coastal warmth and Kansas prairie charm
The owners wanted to bring bits of their Florida home to Wichita. Outside, the backyard was built for exhale moments: peaceful, private, and truly one of a kind

I thought I knew what we were getting ourselves into when we went full time in business together six years ago, but I didn’t know the half of it. Don’t start your own business unless you want to:

1. get time back with your family. Have the freedom to set your own hours and spend the most meaningful moments with your people.

2. Lead your own life according to your values, not the values of another organization.

3. Design your own paid vacations and create your own travel opportunities.

4. Have the freedom to step into new ventures and callings any time.

5.Push yourself to change your mindset, grow your skills, face your fears, and level up.

6. Determine your own paycheck and benefits.

Let’s be real. There are so many hard things that do come with running your own business, but there is also so much good on the other side. What did we miss?

Comment RISKS and we’ll send you the five questions we asked ourselves when we were deciding whether to go full time.
