It’s been NINE DAYS, please DONT burn out yet. ⠀
⠀
Listening⠀
Posting⠀
Learning and unlearning⠀
Willing to say sorry⠀
Speaking up against evil⠀
Mourning with those who mourn⠀
Focused ⠀
Having tough conversations⠀
⠀
Steps toward loving each other, better. With unity and hope we gathered in solidarity last night because silence is not an option, anymore. ⠀
⠀
When we got there a camera crew wanted our picture, I told Cleavland I didn’t know to smile or not. To feel joy or sadness? ⠀
He looked at me boldly and said joy, this is the start so our children won’t have to be doing this. ⠀
All night I saw black children holding signs that said “am I next”, watching my daughter chant BLACK LIVES MATTER made my mind fill with all kinds of emotions.⠀
This is our America, sad and broken. ⠀
⠀
I’m standing proud and boldly to speak up for those who have been silenced!!! ⠀
⠀
We are about to register to VOTE, I am 28 years old and I’ve never voted. Right now my vote has a chance to change the future of our children and their children. We don’t know where to even begin on who to vote for but we are going to start. ⠀
⠀
A lot is new for us right now, but it gives me encouragement to know that I am not alone within this fight. ⠀
I encourage YOU to do these things, all these things. Not for yourself but for the next generation. @ Corpus Christi, Texas
