The best photos are almost never the ones where I tell y’all exactly what to do. They happen right after.

The little laughs in between. The way he looks at you when you’re not paying attention. The forehead kisses. The moments where y’all forget I’m even standing there with a camera. That’s why I’m not trying to turn your engagement session into one giant posing class.

Of course I’ll guide you the whole time, but I’m also watching for the little things that already make your relationship feel like yours.

Because at the end of the day, I don’t want your photos to just look pretty.
I want them to feel like y’all.

Your engagement session is not supposed to feel stiff or overly posed.
Really it starts with us just hanging out for a little bit.

We walk around, talk, get a few easy photos out of the way, and after a few minutes y’all are laughing and not even thinking about the camera anymore.
That’s when the good stuff happens. The in-between moments. The real smiles. The way y’all naturally interact when you’re relaxed and just being together.

By the end of the session, it usually feels way more like a fun date night with third wheel energy from me than some big stressful photo shoot.
Can I get an amen on that!?

Q: When should I book senior portraits?

One thing people don’t think about enough—your schedule.

Try to pick a time of year where life isn’t packed full of things you can’t control. Sports practices, games, school events… all of that adds up quickly.

The last thing you want is to feel stressed about missing something or rushing to make it to your session on time.

Senior photos should feel fun and relaxed. This is a big season of life, and you deserve to actually enjoy it—not feel like it’s just another thing on your to-do list.

Let's talk about a First Look:
Some couples are hesitant about doing a first look because they’re worried it’ll somehow take away from the moment of seeing each other at the ceremony.
But honestly? In my experience, it usually does the exact opposite.

Instead of spending the entire morning anxious, sneaking around each other, and waiting all day for one quick moment at the aisle… you some quality time together before everything really starts moving. You get to hug each other. Talk. Breathe. Calm the nerves a little. Actually be together - with the one you love the most on your most special of days!

And then when the ceremony comes? The emotion is STILL there. If anything, couples are usually even more present because some of the pressure has already melted away.

There’s no “right” answer for every couple — but if you’re nervous about the day feeling rushed or stressful, a first look can completely change the pace and feeling of the entire wedding day in the best way.

Big bridal parties don’t scare me one bit — honestly, they’re usually some of the MOST fun parts of the day.

I’ll be calling everyone by name, keeping things moving quickly, fixing dresses, hyping your people up, and making sure we get through photos as smoothly as possible so you can get to the part that actually matters: marrying your person and enjoying the party afterward.

The goal is always beautiful photos WITHOUT making your bridal party feel like they’ve been standing around forever.
