Turning 33:
I didn’t know if I’d ever walk this beach again. Sometimes you visit a place and it takes up a very special place in your heart. Sometimes when you visit a place, you soak in every detail, every sound and touch because you never know if you’ll be back again. I’m luckily to have been able to stand on my favorite beach 3 times. I hope there will be more to come 💜
In all my wandering, I have come to find that life is more complicated than we often think, no year is the perfect year, but there is still beauty there. This year through the downward slopes I’ve learned to hold tighter to the everyday moments, and those are what I cherish most now.
My highlights this year:
- Made new friends with some wonderful people after we moved again to a new city
- Had a handful of vet appointments that turned out positively, thankfully 🙏
- Finally went to Japan after waiting 3 years in trip delays 🌸
- Finally started getting some answers about my undiagnosed autoimmune symptoms even if I’m still undiagnosed
- Luna our newest rescue made leaps and strides becoming more comfortable with us, even if she still hates attention it’s a big win! 🐶
- Watched my nephews play varsity football and one nephew finish his senior year fb season 🏈
- Started my first semester in a low residency grad program in Bend, OR 📚
- Visited Iceland for our 5 year wedding anniversary and got to walk along my favorite beach again.
- Getting to spend Christmas time with our family (which is huge when you live out of state and country from family). 🎄
So many of these things can be seen as mundane, but each season brings things big and small that shape and rock the tides. I am thankful for it all, to be here with you all 💜 thank you, family, friends, my pups, and my wonderful couples.
