Fancy Lake, Colorado — one of those spots that makes every step of the climb worth it. Sitting high in the Rockies, this trail rewards you with crystal-clear water, wildflower meadows, and mountain peaks that feel almost unreal.

Tips if you go:
• Best visited late June–September (snow often lingers well into summer).
• Bring layers — even sunny days can turn chilly near the lake.
• Start early! Parking fills fast and afternoon storms are no joke.
