Another shot of the old truck, this time the entire truck, which appears to be a Chevy flatbed from the lates 1930s or early 1940s. I'm not a car guy, though I like to photograph them. This was taken with a Nikon F2 Photomic, Kodak Plus X 125 ISO film from the 1990s, F8@1/250 sec. Cornerstone, Sonoma, Ca

When I decided to shoot film again I found lots of old expired film, both 35 mm and 120 film. I tried a couple of rolls of 120 and a roll of 35 mm just for laughs. A couple of photographer friends told me I was wasting my time because film from the 90s won't hold up. They were sort of right about the 120 film. I had lots of white streaks and bleached spots in the photos I took with them. The 35 mm film though was another story. This photo was taken using a roll of Kodak Plus-X, ISO 125, with a "Use by" date of 1997. It was shot with a Nikon F2 Photomic at F8@1/250 sec. This photo is a straight scan from the negative with no retouching done, other than to shrink the photo for Facebook.

This old truck is at Cornerstone, Sonoma.

Every now and then Preston Castle hosts a photographer's day, inviting a few area photographers a chance to photograph this iconic building, inside and out. I was lucky enough to score the last ticket available for this year's special day. Here is the first of many photos I took. This is a digital image to show you while I wait for the film I shot with gets developed.

Red Rocks in Monochrome. The red rock buttes around Sedona offer a different perspective when viewed in black and white. One notices how rugged the geology is as the detail is enhanced by the light and shadow of the Arizona sun.
