Lately, I’ve been spending a ridiculous amount of time at A Touch of Magick making spell kits, oils, powders, jars, and all sorts of other tiny containers of questionable intentions.

You’ve been thinking about doing this for a while, haven’t you?
Imagined what your own session could look like. Maybe you’ve even visited my website, started typing the message… and then talked yourself out of it.
Maybe when I have more money.
Maybe when I feel more confident.
Maybe when life settles down.
Maybe next year.
Here’s the problem with someday:
It has a nasty habit of becoming never.
You don’t need to become more confident before you step in front of my camera. You don’t need to change your body, become less awkward, know how to pose, or win the lottery.
You just have to decide it’s time.
There’s vulnerability in letting yourself be seen exactly as you are. But there can also be something incredibly freeing about it.
A little self-acceptance.
A little peace with the person you are right now.
And a chance to finally create that extraordinary portrait you’ve been imagining instead of waiting for some future version of yourself to deserve it.

People connect with people.
Not logos. Not algorithms. Not perfectly curated feeds that look like everyone else’s.
You.
Your face. Your personality. Your quirks. The things that make someone look at your business and think, Yep. That’s my person.
That authentic connection matters in portraiture—but if you own a business, it matters even more.
Your branding images and headshots don't always need to prove that you own a blazer and know how to stand in front of a beige wall.
They should tell people something about you.
They should feel warm, bold, creative, rebellious, peaceful, dark, playful—or whatever the hell makes your business yours.
Because the right clients aren't just buying what you sell.
They're buying into YOU.

Maybe you’re not becoming someone new.
Maybe you’re just finally becoming more yourself.
There comes a point when you get tired of editing who you are for other people. Tired of being a little quieter, a little easier, a little less weird, less emotional, less intense, less you.
And eventually you start thinking…
What if I just stopped apologizing for it?
That’s the energy I want to photograph.
At Wicked Depiction, I’m not interested in turning you into someone else. I want to find the version of you that’s already there—the one with a little darkness, a little sass, a few battle scars and absolutely no desire to be everybody’s cup of tea.
Because self-acceptance isn’t always soft and inspirational.
Sometimes it’s vulnerable.
Sometimes it’s messy.
Sometimes it’s finally making peace with the parts of yourself you spent years believing were too much.
And sometimes it looks fu***ng fabulous in dramatic lighting.
So I want to know:

We celebrate "too much."
Too magical.
Too tattooed.
