I would like to share some important news with everyone. It's been difficult to find the right words for this announcement, but I am committed to delivering this in an optimistic and positive light.
First and foremost, we wish to formally announce that La Lomita Wildlife Photography Ranch has been sold and is now closed.
The new owner will continue to keep it preserved as undeveloped land, except for a small portion allocated to his construction business. I am appreciative of this outcome, which aligns with our hopes and prayers.
La Lomita Ranch is truly a unique place. It has been a privilege to manage and guide at the ranch, which remains one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and photographic career. The relationships formed here are meaningful and significant. Together we have enjoyed memorable moments appreciating both nature and photography. I am grateful for the support and camaraderie of all involved. As we continue forward, we carry with us a wealth of positive memories, encounters, and photographs. Through sharing our work, we have brought the beauty of nature to friends, family, and the wider community. Inspiring an appreciation of our natural world, conservation and fostering connections through our stories and images.
Second, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Dr. Sandy Hurwitz and his wife Leslee for granting Greg and me the opportunity to manage La Lomita. It has been a privilege and an immense pleasure to welcome guests to this distinctive location, and the experience has been truly transformative.
Thirdly, and most importantly, this is not the conclusion—rather, it marks the beginning of a new chapter. We have much to anticipate and share with everyone as we dedicate our efforts to the continued development of Transition Ranch, a premier wildlife photography destination. Located on 2,400 acres northeast of Brackettville, Texas, Transition Ranch offers a unique opportunity for both returning and new visitors to experience exceptional wildlife photography. We welcome your inquiries regarding bookings for winter bird and wildlife photography and for the amazing spring migration period.
