There’s something really special about this in-between time of year.

The flowers are still blooming, and the trees are still mostly green. But if you slow down enough, you can see the season starting to change. A red leaf here, cooler air in the evening, a different kind of light in the sky.

The seasons have a way of reminding us that nothing stays exactly the same for long. Sometimes the best thing we can do is be present enough to notice it while it’s happening.

And maybe that’s part of why I love being outside with a camera so much. It gives me a reason to slow down, pay attention, and appreciate the little things I probably would’ve walked right past otherwise.

Feels like we spend so much time looking for the big moments that we forget how much of life is really made up of the smaller ones.

Not the huge views or the perfect light, just a path through the sunflowers, kids taking their time and the kind of little details you only notice when you stop rushing passed them.

That’s a lot of what I love about bringing the camera along. It gives me a reason to slow down and actually pay attention.

Not everything has to be big to mean something. Sometimes it’s enough just to notice it. 🌻

Somewhere along the way, Wilderness Walking became more than just the places I went and the photographs I brought home. It became a way of holding onto the places that moved me, the wildlife I was lucky enough to cross paths with and the moments I knew I’d want to remember long after I left them behind.

I’m still chasing wild places and wildlife. I just have a few more little footsteps beside mine now. Somewhere along the way, sharing the adventure with them became just as important as capturing it.

Life has gotten fuller, and lately I’ve found myself reaching for the camera more again. Bringing it along for the places we explore, the wildlife we stumble across and the moments that make me want to stop and frame them. Wilderness Walking is still very much alive, and I’m excited to start sharing more of it again.

There are still roads to follow, trails to wander, storms to watch roll through, wildlife to chase with a lens and plenty of moments worth bringing home.

There are still so many adventures ahead. The difference now is that I get to share more of them with the people I love, making the kind of memories I know I’ll want to hold onto forever.

And this is only the beginning of what I’ve been collecting along the way. There are plenty more photographs, places, wildlife and little pieces of these adventures still to come.
