My first ever (semi-successful) attempt at capturing a deep space object - the Andromeda Galaxy. I messed up a few settings and as a result lost a lot of stars and all color.

Andromeda is the largest galaxy in our local group, with around one trillion stars (twice that of our own Milky Way). Andromeda appears blue in color which signifies that it is moving towards the Milky Way.

The two galaxies will collide in 5 billion years. Luckily or unluckily, our own sun will be at the end of its lifespan by that point and would have swallowed the Earth.

Andromeda has around 20 satellite galaxies orbiting it. You can see two of it’s most prominent satellite galaxies in this picture. Messier 110 - the bright light at the bottom right. Messier 32 - the bright spot a little above and to the left of Andromeda’s center.

One of my most interesting captures yet. Shot this near the Zion National Park in Utah.
The core of our own Milky Way can be seen in all its glory.

Also visible is the Andromeda galaxy, our closest galactic neighbor at a distance of 2.5 million light years. Andromeda is headed towards the Milky Way at a speed of 110km/s and will collide in 5 billion years.

If you look at the bottom right, you can see a cluster of bright blue objects. That’s the Pleiades star cluster, located 444 light years from us.
